Provider and Family Support Services
Provider Support
Childcare providers who are members of the Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network are eligible for the following support services. These support services are intended to help build and maintain high quality home-based childcare slots in Hyde Park and surrounding neighborhoods.
- Maintenance of a centralized application and referral system.
- On-site mentoring and support on administrative procedures.
- On-site mentoring and support in creating and implementing developmentally appropriate daily activities and learning experiences.
- On and off-site enrichment programming. Enrichment programming is currently available in Spanish, music & movement, sign language, creative art, and pre-literacy.
- Professional development seminars & workshops.
- Assistance in obtaining substitute care.
- Assistance with licensing and accreditation procedures.
- Maintenance of a lending library that includes: children’s books, reference books, toys, musical instruments & CDs, art supplies, puzzles, and a variety of other early childhood educational items.
Family Support
Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network personnel provide support for families whose children are enrolled at Baby Ph.D. Network home daycare sites. We also provide support for families who are employing nannies or using family or friend caregivers within their own home (see Nanny Support ). Support for families includes:
- Assistance identifying the best childcare for the family’s needs
- Referral to in-network childcare providers.
- Nanny referral
- Assistance with issues related to transition to childcare (sleeping and eating schedules, separation anxiety, special developmental needs, etc.).
- Provision of information on child development and related issues (sleep, eating, behavior challenges, etc.).
- Assistance in obtaining substitute care when their usual provider is ill or otherwise unavailable.
- Basic information on childcare tax credits and employment taxes for nannies.
