Nanny Support Services

The Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network's nanny support services are designed to give your nanny most of the same support and resources that are received by the home daycare providers in our network.  

Participation in our nanny support program helps to reduce nanny isolation and increases your nanny’s ability to tailor her work to the specific needs of your children. Participation in this program also opens up great socialization opportunities for your children.

There are two options for families who would like to receive nanny support services from Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network.  The two options differ in intensity of support and in cost.  Nanny support fees are per family.  

 Network Affiliate - Family*

- Your nanny may attend Baby Ph.D. trainings and professional development seminars at no cost (8-10 seminars/year).   

- Your nanny can bring your children to our classes at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club and other network sites free of charge (see current schedule of offerings).  

- Your nanny has the option of participating in small-group activity and lesson planning sessions. These sessions focus on how to plan developmentally appropriate activities and daily & weekly schedules.

- Your nanny has access to our internally developed curriculum & lesson plans (many of which will be available electronically).

- Your nanny will have access to our resource center for checking out books, toys, and activity ideas.

- Your family and nanny have the option of purchasing, from Baby Ph.D., a variety of art & other supplies to support implementation of lesson plans, etc. Prices will be at or lower than regular market rates.

- Your will be invited to attend quarterly parent education seminars on key issues such as sleep & feeding concerns, child development, nanny tax how to's, and planning for preschool.

$288/year Families who are not University of Chicago Faculty or staff

Network Member - Family*

This option Includes all that is included with network affiliate status plus:

- Assistance with setting up and implementing a work contract between you and your nanny. This includes assistance with negotiating details of the contract so that it meets everyone’s needs. This also includes one-month and three-month follow-up visits / reviews and personalized assistance as needed throughout the contract period.

- On-site visit to your nanny within the first 4 weeks of the nanny’s hire date to orient the nanny to developmentally appropriate scheduling & activity planning.

- On-site visits to your nanny 4 times a year to support planning & implementation of age appropriate and developmentally stimulating activities for your child(ren)

Fees:

$244/year University of Chicago Faculty and Staff

$388/year – families not on University of Chicago Faculty or Staff
