Mission Statement The Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network, located at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, is dedicated to development and support of high-quality childcare for children 0-3 whose families live and work in the Hyde Park and University of Chicago Communities. General Information (Click here for printable version: Baby PhD Info Sheet.pdf The Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network has three primary goals: To provide professional mentoring and support for in-home childcare providers and nannies serving children 0-3 years old: Network Services To provide childcare consultation, information, and referrals for families with children 0-3 To host developmentally informed, reasonably priced Children's Activities for young children and their caregivers. These activities are coordinated through our childcare resource center & lending library. It is located at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club http://hpnclub.org Members Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network members include a daycare center, licensed and license-exempt daycare homes, families who employ nannies or friend & family caregivers, and stay at home moms and dads. Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network members and the children in their care are a diverse group both racially and culturally. All members are dedicated to high quality early childhood education that takes place within safe and loving home environments. Daily activites are designed to foster the growth of the whole child through a variety of age-appropriate and fun activities. Network members located in central Hyde Park frequently get together for play groups, trips to local parks, and to participate in group learning activities. Larger group activities such as art, dance, sign language, and yoga are held at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club. Network Funding The Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network is supported in part by a grant from the Child Care Initiative (CCI) of the University of Chicago and University of Chicago Hospitals. Additional support comes from the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club and family membership fees. |
